It took considerable faith for Mary to believe that God would accomplish a great work through her. She would have to be versed in the scriptures intently to understand that what the angel had spoken was not only true but that it would come to pass just as the Lord had promised. She could not be concerned with persecution and hardship, with rumors or horrible names being hurled at her. She must have a complete focus on the Lord.
