Joy In The Face of Adversity

Then King Darius wrote to all the peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: “Peace be multiplied to you.  I make a decree, that in all my royal dominion people are to tremble and fear before the God of Daniel, for he is the living God, enduring forever; his kingdom shall never be destroyed, and his dominion shall be to the end.  He delivers and rescues; he works signs and wonders in heaven and on earth, he who has saved Daniel from the power of the lions.” – Daniel 6:25-27

Daniel’s faith and the rescue in the lions’ den are such a beautiful foreshadowing of the work of Jesus and his ultimate victory over death and the grave. We may not be delivered from earthly trials, but we can have hope in Jesus. We can have hope that he has shut the mouth of the enemy. The enemy has no power when we have faith in Jesus and the salvation we have in Him. Jesus came to this earth and died for my sins and your sins. Our sin had separated us from God, but Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice for sin. And through Him alone, we can have salvation. He is the Lord of Lords and King of Kings. He is the way, the truth, and the life. He is our only hope and he is the true source of Joy for us today.
