And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here, I have made five talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ – Matthew 25:20-21 (ESV)
The Church is the family of God, we may not always agree, but we can remain unified in Christ Jesus. The Church must meet, break bread, and have prayer.
“And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.” Acts 2:46-47 (ESV)
We must be willing to meet one another’s needs, as well. The early Church was generous and so we must be generous, too.
“He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness,” 2nd Corinthians 9:10 (ESV)
We must give to those in need and to the house of God. If the church is to help those in need, we must bring our gifts to the storehouse. (Malachi 3:10.) We must be good stewards of our time, talents, and finances so that we can meet one another’s needs. The Church is the Family of God and we are bound by the blood of Christ!
The things of this world have been entrusted to you by the Lord. What you do with them is up to you. The things of this earth are very little in comparison to the things of Heaven. Are you seeing to the needs of others? Are you storing up your treasure in Heaven?
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. – Luke 12:34 (ESV)
