What is love?

Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations, – Deuteronomy 7:9 (ESV)

The word “love” is mentioned 567 times between Genesis and Revelation and love is always at the top of virtues listed throughout Scripture.

Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. – 1 Peter 4:8 (ESV)

We all need to remember that love is not a feeling. Love is what we do for others. Dying on the cross for someone else is the truest form of love.

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. – John 15:13 (ESV)
